ACG stands for All Conditions Gear, a sub-brand of Nike that was unveiled around 1989. You may be familiar with some of the models, including the Air Mowabb, Air Wildwood and Air Humara. But ACG footwear ran deep, with different silhouettes made for different activities: Rock climbing. Released in 1993, this Air Yewtah 2 redefined what it means to blur the line between trail-ready utility and high-heat streetwear. Taking direct inspiration from the rugged terrain and striking rock formations of the American Southwest, this silhouette translates raw natural landscapes into a sleek, urban staple. It features a neoprene collar and fuses weather-resistant paneling with aggressive tread patterns, capturing a golden era of adventurous design while keeping its footprint firmly in current culture.
Released in 2002, this Air Adventurist caught the sneaker world off guard by fusing a smart, shiny leather upper with rugged trail performance, paired with heavy-duty nylon side paneling. Beneath the elevated upper, the silhouette packed raw off-road muscle: aggressive lugged outsoles for maximum traction alongside exposed Air units heavily inspired by the Air Terra Humara. Since its release and exemplary show of early 2000s crossover design, the Air Adventurist has become an ultra-rare cut of ACG history made for collectors who appreciate deep-vault technical gems
Released in 1996 during the golden age of '90s trail gear, this Air Ratic 2 stands as a ruthless deep-vault grail. Engineered as an aggressive approach hiking boot built for unpredictable terrain, this silhouette drew inspiration from technical mountain scramblers and off-grid multi-sport testing. It's a rugged combination of heavy-duty overlays, weather-ready paneling, an oversized tongue held in place by laces that run through speed loops and an anchored lacing system to give it the structural muscle needed to tackle rough backcountry paths. Underfoot, the execution is pure Nike All Conditions Gear grit: encapsulated Air cushioning in the heel to absorb hard landings, a deeply lugged tread outsole that bites firmly into loose gravel and mud and bold color blocking. Released in 2000, this Air Teewinot 2 represents peak early-2000s technical innovation from Nike's outdoor division. Drawing name and design inspiration from Mount Teewinot, the rugged 12,000-foot peak in Wyoming's Grand Teton National Park, this silhouette was forged specifically for high-altitude scrambles and unforgiving approach terrain. It features a Vibram rubber forefoot with a mixed material upper including quick drying Kaiser mesh. Its most head-turning feature: a dual-tiered, to-the-toe lacing system that allows for a hyper-precise, custom lockdown fit. Wrapped in heavy-duty suede and reinforced weather-proof paneling, the upper rests on encapsulated Air cushioning and aggressive high-traction outsoles.
