New Balance 997

Designed by Steven Smith, the made-in-USA New Balance 997 was first introduced in 1991. The silhouette is part of the premium 990 franchise, which was established in 1982 with the 990v1. Engineered with premium components throughout, the 997 is most recognizable for its accentuated toebox, which adds to the shoe’s speedy profile. Originally introduced in a grey-on-grey color scheme, additional colorways of note include the “Outdoor Pack” and “Blue Jay” versions. The sneaker has also been reworked by the likes of Kith and Aimé Leon Dore.
