Nike Air Griffey Max 1

In 1995, Nike introduced the very first signature model of Seattle Mariners star Ken Griffey Jr., the Air Griffey Max 1. Originally released in Mariners colorways, the silhouette is also noteworthy for its use of Griffey’s Swingman logo on the heel, taking inspiration from Michael Jordan’s Jumpman logo. The shoe’s most noteworthy design elements include air bubble cushioning in the heel and forefoot, as well as Griffey’s jersey number 24 on the upper. Key colorways include “Cincinnati Reds,” “Purple Venom” and “Freshwater.”
