Vans Sk8

Today known as the Vans Sk8-Hi, the Van Doren Rubber Company originally introduced its Style #38 almost 50 years ago in 1979. Only the second sneaker from the brand to don the distinctive side stripe, the Sk8-Hi offered improved ankle protection for skateboarding, but the shoe was later embraced into subcultures like punk and hip-hop, making it a style icon. In addition to the original ‘Navy’ and ‘Black’ versions, key colorways include collaborations with DEFCON and Disney.
